The spring and summer of 2009 were witheringly hot and parched in South Texas, but we managed to photograph a few flowers before everything dried up.

	Vase abstract. I bought two vases on clearance at a local craft store and had a lot of fun creating minimalist compositions with them. Canon EOS 5D, Tokina 100mm macro lens.

	Wilted Tulip I was about to throw this tulip out when something told me to give it a chance to shine. Canon EOS 30D, Tokina 100mm macro lens.

	Grass abstract, Enchanted Rock. I happened across these grass pieces in an area of runoff and liked the simple, abstract patterns. Canon EOS 5D, Tokina 100mm macro lens.
